It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the largest hotel in our portfolio has opened its doors on May 1st, after a very thorough renovation over the past several years.

The brand new Holiday Inn Express hotel at the ‘Place du Samedi’, near De Brouckère square, now has 114 hotel room with 15 underground parking spots and ancillary accommodation.

This is the only Holiday Inn Express in the capital. The property is on a long leasehold to the Borealis Hotel Group.

Vabeld has entered into a sale and leaseback transaction with Decathlon in Roeselare, close to Vabeld headquarters.

The site has a surface area of almost 2,5 hectares and Vabeld intends to develop the site with additional retail as well as leisure tenants over the years to come.

This brings the Decathlon stores in the Belgian portfolio up to 3.

Vabeld UK is proud to anounce that it was able to add an absolute prime location to its property portfolio in Liverpool.

The property, located on arguably the busiest pedestrian intersection in the center of Liverpool, is fully let to HSBC.

With this acquisition, Vabeld UK now owns the entire Lord Street block starting at North John Street up to Whitechapel and will focus its efforts in further upgrading this retail pitch over the years to come.

Vabeld has obtained, with one of its strategic investment partners, a permit for the redevelopment of a retail site along the Paalsesteenweg in Paal – Beringen. At the location where JBC and Torfs are currently already present, Vabeld will erect a new complex, which will house both existing tenants as well as one other retailer and a local telecommunications company, which will lease two floors of office space. The project has been in the works for some time and we are convinced that the innovative design by architect F. Jaspers will significantly upgrade the site and the surroundings.
